updatenode always downloads the postscripts from the mn/sn. So if you change the scripts under /install/postscripts on mn and sn, the latest copy will be used on the nodes. It comes soon enough." --- Albert Einstein -----------"Blatt, Andrew C" <and...@ba...>----------- Does "updatenode <node>" check the SN or MN to make sure it has the latest postscript ? What happens if the script was changed prior to running updatenode? Cheers. -----Original Message----- From: Lissa Valletta [mailto:li...@us...] Sent: Monday, June 07, 2010 11:13 AM To: xCAT Users Mailing list Cc: xCAT Users Mailing list Subject: Re: [xcat-user] why does xcatdsklspost download everything in/postscripts? Hierarchically the mounting is not going to work, when the only way to the node is through the service node. Also after the install you should be able to run updadenode <node> postscript for any of the postscripts. Lissa K. Perhaps an nfs mode of operation as an option could be had (if we had something like curlftpfs ubiquitous, we could have done that). Retrieve-on-access could benefit again. Same for installs, for different reasons. Some nfs solutions don't scale, but for smaller setups or scalable nfs implementations, some OS installers deliver better performance nfs.
