[wxperl-users] encoding of a wxTextCtrl (or the application)

is it possible to get the encoding of a textctrl or the current encoding?=


wxFONTENCODING_DEFAULT gives me 0
wxFONTENCODING_SYSTEM gives me -1

but i'm pretty shure my stuff should have wxFONTENCODING_ISO8859_1 becaus=
e
i'm
from switzerland and my textctrls shows me =E4, =F6 and =FC.

but i don't know how this things work...
