#23 Error: IRRecord.exe: could not init hardware

Not able to record using below command.
IRRecord.exe -d SerialDevice.dll ..\config.cfg

getting error:
D:\WinLIRC>IRRecord.exe -d SerialDevice.dll ..\config.cfg
irrecord - application for recording IR-codes for usage with lirc

IRRecord.exe: could not init hardware (lircd running ? --> close it, check permissions)

Also not able to start Winlirc after configuring serialdevice.dll and giving .cfg file. It gives error not able initialize.

I am using WIndows XP SP3 and windows standard drivers for IR device on acer aspire 5920 laptop.

Has the receiver been setup correctly ? Ie if you close winlirc, can you use IRGraph to see the signal ?

From the specs of your laptop it looks like it has built in IR port. Are you trying to use that?
If so, then SerialDevice.dll is probably a wrong plugin to use unless this built in IR port is usable like a serial port.

Yes my laptop has built in IR port. Which plugin should i use. I am not able to initiater IR Graph.
