Hi! Sorry for my late reply, but my laptop broke down so I'm computerless :-) Today I wrote the following to the kde-look.org guys via the webform: ==snip Subject: Call for artists for a non KDE game Hi folks! I'm one of the programmers of the open source game "Widelands", http://widelands.sourceforge.net. Widelands is heavily inspired by Settlers II, and currently in an almost playable state, but good graphics are missing badly. If I remember correctly, some time ago there was a call for artists posted on kde-look.org by another os game (wasn't it FreeCiv?). Do you know if it was successful? If it was, would it possible to do the same for Widelands? Thanks in advance, Florian ==snip > > Would that also be a possibility for Widelands? > > What do the current artists think? > year. what do you think? Maybe we should also start a thread in the forum on the homepage in case some artists are not subscribed to the list. > On the second hand, graphics should be made easier. PNG with > transparency and alpha is easier for graphiciens. That's true. It's just shitty to fiddle around with anti aliased borders. I wasn't able to convince Inkscape to draw a "hard" line. How much effort would it take to implement it? > beside this, > documentation ( a HOWTO? ) should be made... Maybe, but I think wiki gives quite a good start already. bye, flo |
