hopefully at least this email reaches the mailing list. I wanted to post the following, but as far as I can see, it never recieved at the mailing list: Tim Stoop schrieb: > On Sun, Sep 28, 2008 at 2:31 PM, Jochen Wiedmann > <joc...@gm... <mailto:joc...@gm...>> wrote: > > What is the current state of the Windows builds? What's the point then in > waiting for it to work on Windows if no one is interested in getting > it to work on Windows? @ windows-builds: there are some guys compile SVNBuilds, so that shouldn't be a problem. And from statistics on our website I can say that you are wrong if you say, that noone is interested in a windows-version of widelands. About 30-40% of our players are on Windows. Well you _could_ say "yes", as Widelands should be at least as stable as build12 was, but my idea behind a feature freeze in a month is based on some thinks I would like to be implemented/fixed until final release. On my "wish list" are two things: 1) The "little trees set with editor don't grow up in game" bug should be fixed 2) The multiplayer savegame loader is still just a basic implementation. It would be nice to at least have a system that automatically sends the savegame from server to all clients, to make sure that all clients use the same file. And a map sharing would be nice as well. To be honest: I hope that someone else will take care about these points, as I haven't even start working on them and won't find enough time for Widelands until 18th of October (still have to write some exams). |
