I was working with a user today who wanted to import their Usermin contacts into Thunderbird. While I can easily do this by SSH'ng in and getting the file and massaging a little bit before the import I was curious to was there any considerations possible in the future to add the ability to the "Manage Address Book" module which could import, export, and maybe even allow user editing of the raw Usermin address book? Of course encouraging users to use Thunderbird and other clients is probably not a strong argument for this feature, but I think it would also allow other uses as well like some of the more savvy users may want to export, edit their book offline, and then import it back in. Maybe even help those who are using other clients and so forth to make the hop to usermin. Anyhow thanks for reading and thanks to you Jaime for diligent support of Webmin and Usermin. Usermin has been a staple here at Gateway School District for a very long time and though theres been an issue here and there for the number of people who use it daily those issues are always addressed in a timely manor. Thank you for that and for Usermin. -Jesse |
