The 'UIDL format' tells Dovecot how to generate a unique ID for each message for POP3 clients. Slightly annoyingly it isn't set to anything by default, so you have to select one of the options for Dovecot to run properly. It actually doesn't really matter much what you choose for a new server - the only time it would matter is if you were switching IMAP servers. But you do have to select something. - Jamie |
