I thought you were editing the sendmail.cf file since you said you were sorry for posting here I assumed you were not using Webmin. For SMTP Port Options I have "Name=MTA" in the Sendmail Options. I don't see a "Port=" anywhere in Webmin. Best thing you can do is go to a command line and run this command: echo "test" | mail -v em...@do... Substitute the above address for a real address. This will tell you everything Sendmail is trying to do and likely will tell you where the error is.
