As discussed http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/vxl/vxl/contrib/mul/vil2/note s.html?rev=HEAD, the basic idea is 1. All the code in vxl/core is converted to use vil2. 2a. vil will be renamed to vil1 and moved out of the core. This will be done by scripting s/vil_/vil11/ etc, and direct modification of the repository to rename files and directories. 2b. vil2 will be renamed to vil and moved into the core, using the same method as above. I don't mind if vil2 is moved into the core (still called vil2) early in order to make linking problems during the conversion easier. Let me know if you want this done, I will have to close the repository for a few days.
