Antonio, It looks like your version of ffmpeg is newer than anything that has been tested with vidl2. If you find that you can make it work by making only a few changes to vidl2 then let us know. Otherwise we will stick to the plan and wait for Amitha's updated version. I don't know anything about libavdevice, but my guess is that it is a wrapper for other device drivers like v4l2 and libdc1394 for use in the ffmpeg standalone executable. If that is the case then it probably isn't very useful for vidl2 since we already have stream classes to interface directly with those drivers and accesses the same devices (probably with more control). If this is not the case, then please explain what libavdevice does and what benefit you think it might have for vidl2.
