It sounds like you are running PHP 5.3; VuFind 2.4 requires PHP 5.4 or later. If you can upgrade PHP, that should solve the problem; otherwise, you'll have to run 2.3.1 instead.

I'm trying to install vufind 2.4 and I'm getting a white screen on vufind/Install/Home.

This is the error in the httpd logs:

PHP Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected '[' in /usr/local/vufind2/vendor/zf-commons/zfc-rbac/config/module.config.php on line 19

How do I fix this?  Thanks
