Looking at this in a different font fooled me into thinking there was no
space there.

Have you been able to isolate a sample record that contains a MIT-LIN-MS-*
value but lacks the expected "Meeting speech" value? This should be fairly
easy to locate with a query like:

 

raw_field:MIT-LIN-MS* NOT processed_field:"Meeting speech"

 

(obviously, replacing raw_field and processed_field with appropriate field
names).

 

Perhaps studying a known problem record will reveal a clue - and if it's not
obvious, you can share the relevant parts of the record here for analysis.

(Sorry, apparently my first attempt to send this got bounced because it
contained non-text elements.)

 

I finally got a "document type" facet (derived from marc field 088) to
display field values that have been mapped to a common value via a
pattern_map.

But the facet is only showing a tiny fraction of records from our
collection.

 

For example:

 

One value is "Meeting speech"

Here is the pattern_map for this:

 

pattern_map.lldoctype.pattern_5 = MIT-LIN-MS.* =>Meeting speech

 

The Meeting speech that is contained in the "document type" facet displays
only 7 record.

 

However, if I search for MIT-LIN-MS, I get over 3,700 hits!

 

MIT-LIN-MS-X98-20

MIT-LIN-MS-352

MIT-LIN-MS-4295

etc

 

 

I should point out that 088 is a multiple value marc field and in this case,
not all 088 rows contain the string "MIT-LIN-MS".
