VuFind does this sort of thing in a couple of places - the call number search is configured to force a wildcard on every search, and the Solr autocomplete module modifies the current query to ensure it has a wildcard on the end. You might be able to adapt logic/configuration from either of those places to achieve the effect you desire. However, I'd be careful about wildcarding all searches by default - I think this is likely to frustrate and confuse more than help - it prevents users from entering specific terms (if I really want to search for "cat," I don't want results about "cathedrals"), and it may also interfere with advanced syntax (it's easy to put a "*" on the end of a search query... but this may have unintended consequences if the search is something like publishDate:[1930 TO 1950]). If you tell us more about why you are trying to do this, perhaps we can offer an alternative that is preferable to mass wildcarding. - Demian From: Viviane Ventura [mailto:vav...@ya...] Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2013 9:07 AM To: vufind-general Subject: [VuFind-General] Default search with * Hi! Is it possible configure vufind to perform all searches with * by default? Por exemple: Target: Fam Results: Family, Fame In order to type explicitly Fam* (with *). Results: Family, Fame Thanks for help! |
