Thanks for the information Demian. My first attempt which I described in my email was with FF4. I have tried again with IE8 and got a 500 Internal Server Error. Sounds like a PHP/XML issue? Subject: RE: [VuFind-General] Get RSS Feed Link First of all, if you try different browsers and/or view the page source, do you see anything different? I believe the XML Parsing Error you are seeing is coming from your browser, so it may indicate that VuFind is returning an empty document in response to the RSS request, or it may mean there is simply bad data somewhere in the feed. Narrowing down the exact problem may help pinpoint the cause. If you can't get clues out of your browser, you may need to put some debug output into the code. The RSS feed is generated in the SearchObject_Solr::buildRSS method found in web/sys/SearchObject/Solr.php. This code does a VuFind search, serializes the results into XML, and then does an XSL transformation into RSS. If the version of PHP you are using has missing XML libraries, that might be causing some step in the process to fail - outputting values along the way should prove helpful. Good luck, and please let me know if you need any more detailed help! - Demian From: Byron Smith [mailto:by...@we...] Sent: Tuesday, May 10, 2011 8:55 AM To: vuf...@li... Subject: [VuFind-General] Get RSS Feed Link Hi All, I have noticed at the bottom of VuFind search results there is an option for Get RSS Feed. When I click this link I get an error with the following: XML Parsing Error: No element found Location: http://webwired/vufind/Search/Results?lookfor=dogs&type=AllFields&view=rss Line Number 1, Column 1: I am running multiple instances of VuFind 1.1 on a Win2k3 server. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Regards, Byron |
