Hello, I did want to offer one small thing to consider. I was nominated at Yale for my skills and position, not my active participation in the Vufind-tech email list. I only mention this because I do think that the qualifications are good but in some cases may not represent the best interest of the organization that is participating, assuming Yale remains represented in the community in this manner. But above that, I also wanted to say hello as I've never posted in the Vufind forum and to mention that I look forward to working with everyone on this project. -mike ___________________________________ Michael Friscia Senior Web Programmer Library Access Integration Services Yale University Library (203) 432-1856 From: Demian Katz [mailto:dem...@vi...] Sent: Wednesday, September 16, 2009 11:19 AM To: vuf...@li... Subject: [Vufind-admins] Welcome to the admins list! I just checked the membership list, and it looks like all of the VuFind admin volunteers have joined this list. If anybody has been waiting to speak until the whole group was present, you can go ahead now. Please let us know if you have any objections to the proposed policies and group composition... though I'm hoping the silence means general agreement! As far as moving forward, I've asked Eoghan to post a link to the skills survey he's been developing so we can learn more about each other's abilities and hopefully make more informed decisions in order to build a diverse, committed and stable admin group. We also need to figure out a voting procedure to select the group once we have the necessary information available -- I plan to spend some time looking at LimeSurvey to see if that's a suitable tool since it's conveniently built into the Sourceforge site, but if there are other suggestions, I'm happy to hear them. - Demian |
