FWIW, our interest in putting vuFind (or other) on top of Evergreen is that Lucene+SOLR-based PACs offer us the opportunity to explore single search interfaces to our various local databases (photographs, digital repositories, etc.), but also including the possibility for integrating subscription-based and other external sources (e.g. http://www.mail-archive.com/cod...@li.../msg05145.html. So we have a number of non-MARC bibliographic and other databases that we'd eventually like to see searchable together through a single search, and so the ability to offer up sources as separate facets is appealing, etc., as is the possibility of serving up these separate databases with a single search toolbox working in the background. As a result of a merger of 3 library networks, we have multiple development environments to maintain for a variety of databases indexing services, and is pretty challenging to provide a single search for them all. I have to admit that I'm curious why you want to put VuFind on top of Koha or Evergreen? Is there some feature that the VuFind interface offers that you don't think is easily obtainable with the catalog interface that comes with Koha or Evergreen? I haven't extensively used either of the latter, so I'm not entirely familiar with what they offer. Or is it just a desire to keep the look and feel independent from the underlying system in case you have to switch again? (Or to get a jump ahead on interface development before you choose your ILS and maybe use that in determining the ILS you want?)
