A also notice that since 2.7.1 I can't use ESC and BackSpace keys with VirtualBox (running on server side Windows 8). When I reinstall to 2.6.4 then everything works ok.
See ticket #1256. Replacing the 64-bit server with the 32-bit server on the remote machine provided a workaround for me. ESC, TAB, and Backspace keys were not seen by the remove VirtualBox console. Worse, Left-Control (CTRL) was seen as Right-Control(?). With VirtualBox this meant that CTRL-C switch to scaling display mode and CTRL-H (my stty backspace key) halted the machine.
