I tried the ssh -X direct connection and I luanched glxinfo wich is in the /opt/SUNWvgl/bin on the server. I've got this following error : Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual I've got this error when I launch glxspheres Polygons in scene: 62464 ERROR (542): Could not obtain RGB visual with requested properties I tried the connection with vglconnect from my workstation, and I've got the same error than above with glxinfo and glxspheres. Note, in my case, I have to be connected on the gateway server with a vncviewer inside ssh tunneling. Inside that, I use ssh -X to an other application server, named Euclide. I tried that with the RealVNC profesional version software, during the evaluation time, and this worked well. As we're an edacutional structure, we can't pay for each users. Schematic : client ---> SSH Tuneling to Aragon ---> Aragon where is launched TurboVncserver --> in the VNC windows we launch ssh -X to euclide. Did I do something wrong ? Do I have to install Virtual GL on euclide too ? It seems as though /dev/fbs/* doesn't exist. Can you confirm that? Do you have a Sun graphics adapter installed with the correct drivers? Are you running vglserver_config as root? Once you are in TurboVNC, you have to invoke your application using vglrun in order to get OpenGL support. See the VirtualGL User's Guide for very detailed instructions on this. Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display "aragon:1.0". Do I have to put /opt/SUNWvgl/bin in my PATH ? These files /usr/dt/config/Xsession.jds and /usr/dt/config/Xinitrc.jds don't exist on my server. I attached the result of the vglserver_config and xdpyinfo output Regards. 2009/2/20, DRC <dco...@us...>:

It sounds as if vglserver_config did not work properly. Can you re-run that command and send the output? If access to display :0 was not properly granted, then xdpyinfo will hang as you described. That is the way dtlogin on Solaris behaves, unfortunately. It doesn't give a proper "access denied" message when attempting to open unauthorized connections to the X server. As far as the grey screen with X cursor, that generally means that the window manager was not properly launched by TurboVNC. The first thing to check is whether ~/.dt/sessions/lastsession exists. If it does exist, then cat the contents of that file and check that the script referred to in the file exists. Next, verify that either /usr/dt/config/Xsession.jds, /usr/dt/config/Xinitrc.jds, or /usr/dt/bin/Xsession exists. When I launched with root and an user this command : xdpyinfo -display :0 I didn't got any messages and I lost my prompt. xdpyinfo alone gives me lot of information So I lauched my Turbo vncserver. The vnccconnect's got a grey panel whit the X of mousse pointer Do you know how to have vncconnect working ? and where I can find the log for solve the problem ?
