Rodney, here are some changesets from uckelman-merge for you:

1752: Bug: Imageless layers should return null image. Fixed.

1753: Bug: Saved game updater export should use Save, not Open,
      file chooser. Fixed.

1754: Cleanup:

      * show() is deprecated as of Java 1.5. Use setVisible(true) instead.
      * Removed many superfluous casts.
      * File.toURL() is deprecated as of Java 1.6. Use toURI().toURL() instead.
      * Replaced SwingUtilities.findFocusOwner(), deprecated as of Java 1.4.
      * Correct javadoc typos.

1755: Switch from javax.swing.JFileChooser to VASSAL.tools.FileChooser in
      VASSAL.launch.Main.


1752 and 1753 would be appropriate to merge into a hypothetical 2.9.10
release, as well as into the trunk for 3.0. Forget about the changesets
I sent you before which haven't been merged yet---some of that code is
under construction again due to tiling.

Expect a whole mess of commits for new features from me by the end of the
week---improved zooming, tiling, and maybe a neato magnifying glass popup
if I get that far.
