Hi Lars and hi to all, First be prepared for my bad english :-) I'm the same guy of yesterday mail... Now Xawtv works, today I've even make working the Direct Rendering Infrastructure to try the "soldier of fortune" game (I'm not an hard player but I think that DRI could be usefull even for other things). I know that this mailing list is for the TV and IN OUT capabilities of the V3-3500 and not for other purposes but since I think that only here I can find some good expert of this graphic card and since I've some curiosity I try to make some other questions.... The Direct Rendering accelerations works only in 16bpp but xawtv need (for my pc) 24 bpp so if I want to play a game or to use an application with DRI and then I want to see TV I have to switch color depth and restart X.... this is not a big problem but... Why voodoo 3 3500 has the DRI activated only in 16 bpp? Is a technical limitation (due to the hardware memory ecc...) or is because the DRI libraries are still too "young"? If I'm not in wrong under Windoz I could use even 24 and 32 bpp (not in the game ok... the texture are 16 bpp I think due to the architecture of the voodoo). I'm not a technician as you can see, I'm a chemistry student and the computers for me are only an hobby so don't get angry if my questions are stupid. By the way, the TV works even if in XF86config I use all the 16384 Kb of videoram. Thanks to all Enrico (from italy) ops... I was forgetting.... Under winzoz I've used the voodoo 4-5 driver and it works. I read about it on an italian overclock site and so I've tried... The people of the site said that with that driver the applications does not draw the polygon that are not visible...I know, this procedure has a name, but I don't rimember what :-) I don't know if is it true or if now the games are faster anyway they still works so I would like to know what do you think about this....
