The problem is this in the existing code which is deleted in yours: info.tty[0] = dev[strlen("/dev/pty")]; info.tty[1] = dev[strlen("/dev/ptyX")]; Because of the wierdness of xterm's command line, it wants the -S switch to look like -Sxxnn and it opens /dev/ttyxx. This doesn't seem at all compatible with devfs (or pts for that matter), which sticks all pseudo-terminals under a subdirectory of /dev. If devfsd makes normal-looking symlinks from /dev/ttyxx into that subdirectory, then that will make things work. Jeff |
