hello, I am new to UML and hope to use to address a security requirement. However, while I can get the system to work just fin, if I boot either the debian or redhat system I can network ok by IP number, but any attempt to use a FQDN for a machine fails for debian and for redhat will cause the machine (both the UML mchine and the host) to obtain very high load averages and become extremely unresponsive to on the net, to the point I have to almost kill the UML from the host. All other networking works, (for example I can ssh to other machines and work just fine, no sence of delay or load) if I use IP numbers, However, any attempt to use FQDN's fail. I have resolve.conf identical to the host machine, which of course does not suffer from such issues. is there some issue with network identification or traffic I am not doing correctly? (obviously I am not). thanks for your help doug |
