I had my main linux kernel source tree pointed at the same directory as the UML kernel tree thinking that would work that way - having one tree in which I can build a regular kernel and an UML kernel. Clearly that doesn't work, or perhaps it should work, but it just doens't for me. So I unpacked a fresh 2.4.0-test11 tree and used that for a dedicated UML kernel tree, keeping /usr/include/asm and /usr/include/linux still pointing to the previous non-UML kernel. This resulted in a properly compiled UML kernel, copied a development LFS system to it, 'booted' it and it works. Good luck with the development, -- Gerard Beekmans www.linuxfromscratch.org -*- If Linux doesn't have the solution, you have the wrong problem -*- |
