COW files aren't supported by the host. Your only problem is that you partitioned it, so it's slightly more difficult to loopmount. > Is tehre a way of mounting this file to correct the pam.conf file ? Likely, if it's on the first partition, mount -o loop,offset=512 ubd0 <mount point>.
