-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 We have discovered what seems to be a bug in the socket input facility of UML which uses telnet. If we connect to the socket, login, do something and disconnect, the UML process leaks a host system file descriptor, which can be seen in /proc/ UML_PID/fd on the host, where UML_PID is the pid of the UML process. Repeated connections eventually exhaust the per process file descriptor limit, and further connections are not possible. We are using the current (2.6.7) UML, on a 2.4 host system, (although we doubt that the host system version is likely to be relevant). The UML tools, including port_helper, are up to date with the UML kernel. The host and uml OS is based on gentoo.
