Hi, I recently built a UML binary based on 2.4.24 off of kernel.org. My new kernel starts up fine, but when I start up eth0, I get: # ifup eth0 SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not permitted SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not permitted and dmesg says: execvp of 'uml_net' failed - errno = 2 execvp of 'uml_net' failed - errno = 2 read_output - read of length failed, err = 0 execvp of 'uml_net' failed - errno = 2 eration not permitted execvp of 'uml_net' failed - errno = 2 read_output - read of length failed, err = 0 Before I built this kernel, I was using the UML binary available in Debian/Stable. Starting a UML session with that binary works fine on the same root_fs and with the same boot options, and I can bring up the interface with no trouble. So, I think there has to be something wrong with how I'm choosing my kernel config options. I've attached my kernel config; can anyone give me a hint what I might be screwing up? Thanks! |
