The easiest method I have found for enlarging filesystems has been to create a new sparse file to copy into e.g. dd if=/dev/zero of=new_file bs=1k count=1 seek=$(( 1024 * 1024 )) ; mke2fs new_file would produce a file of 1G with a ext2 filesystem and then either I would mount it and the original with -o loop and just cp -a or if I had a COW file I would put it on a spare ubd device and do the copy inside the UML I noticed that you appeared to be running e2fsck on a reiserfs filesystem? I would surprised if this worked. Also if cp -a gives problems using tar or cpio to pipe a archive over also works cd srcdir ; tar cf - . | (cd destdir; tar xpf -) as I recall, the man pages list several versions to copy whole trees from one place to another. Most filesystems used with UML do not have partition tables but you can now use them. mounting becomes strange as a offset (usually 16384) needs to be specified when using loopback devices to skip the partition table header in the image file ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
