I was going to post this yesterday, but I forgot. One of my boxes oopsed yesterday morning when running 2.4.19-ck7-rmap, because of a debugging BUG() call in mm/mmap.c on line 1159. It was non-fatal, and the machine continued to run happily, although it did kill off one of my UMLs since the process which caused the problem was the tracing thread for it. I have since commented the two lines out which call BUG(), and it seems to be quite happy now. It has been up for a couple of days, and seems to be swapping cleanly now, so I'm hopeing that everything is stable (famous last words). I'd be interested to hear what other people have seen from the host kernels in terms of stability with UML, since it would be nice to have a section on usermodelinux.org where these issues can be addressed.
