What is probably a good idea is to create either partitions on an imagefile, or setup LVM, rather than have a bunch of imagefiles and end up with ubd7 or something silly. For /tmp (and /var/tmp and /dev/shm), I'd just mount it tmpfs. > My aim, is to have a root filesystem file, that is mounted read only in > one VM, but modified (upgraded) in another VM, without having to shut > down the VM with the read-only mount? Is this possible? Should work, but you'll need /etc to be machine specific too. David -- David Coulson http://davidcoulson.net/ d...@vi... http://journal.davidcoulson.net/ |
