hi all, I was thinking about using UML as part of a honeynet/tarpit solution. The idea is to trap crackers/worms in virtual network consisting of UML VMs. For this however to work, a lot of UML instances are required (something on the scale of 200+ in my case). Obviously, this is not possible on a normal machine. I would like to know whether it is possible for a single UML instance to mimick multiple boxes such that the following sub-systems are partitioned among the boxes: - networking: eg separate port space - separate process space - A bit of filesystem separation. and at the same time having as many things shared as possible. I came across a project called virtual server for Linux (vserver) which does the above things. A commercial offering called virtuozzo is even more scalable (2000 VMs - altho on a high-end machine) Also, integrating this kind of functionality in UML will make it a great platform for virtual web hosting. Any idea how can this be achieved in UML? regards imran ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "There are basically two types of people.
