Hi All, I seem to be having a problem setting the MAC Address when using the 'daemon' transport. I know by default it sets the MAC Address based on the IP(v4) address, but I don't need (or want) to set an IP(v4) address. (I am trying to set up a purely IPv6 virtual network) I actually start the uml instance with the following script: #!/bin/bash export DISPLAY=192.168.39.15:0.0 /mnt/uml/linux.ldap ubd0=/mnt/uml/root.ldap \ eth0=daemon,fe:fd:00:00:00:04,unix,/tmp/uml.ctl,/tmp/uml.data \ ubd1=/mnt/uml/swap.ldap \ mem=64M But it doesnt set the MAC address on the interface. I can get around the problem by setting a dummy IP on the interface, but Id really like to get it working 'properly'. (Ive also tried leaving off the ,unix,/tmp/uml.ctl,/tmp/uml.data bits, but to no avail) This is on 2.4.18-17um, so a little old, but Im not aware of any changes that would affect this behaviour (but I may have missed them) I'm pretty certain Im not tripping over the (obscure) bug that limits the number of 'options' that you can pass to the kernel, as both ubd1 is being set, and mem=64M is being honoured. Anyone have any ideas on what Im doing wrong ? All the Best Iain |
