Regarding the detection, UrJTAG and kurobox version give the same
output? ... and "flashmem" says "Chip: AMD Flash Manufacturer: AMD"?

It should be possible to replace amd.c and/or cfi.c in UrJTAG with the
versions from the kurobox tar, no need to patch. It would be interesting
to know if that improves something in your setup.
