This page has some information on copyright limitations: http://www.fplc.edu/tfield/copynet.htm#lim The relevent line is: "only expression is protected, not facts or ideas." That's why people say that lists are not generally copyrightable. The = way I understand it, if list items are expressive (if it is possible to restate them in = your own words) then the list is copyrightable.
