The following is what I did to get it working. I hope it helps someone. 1) Install backtrack 5 2) Follow the guide here: http://www.hackfromacave.com/articles_and_adventures/ubertooth_bt5.html with the following changes - before Kismet make instructions do: aptitude install uthash-dev ./configure 3) When done, do this for wireshark portion: download wireshark 1.6.1 source code from wireshark.org (match version on your computer) put in ~/src bzcat (filename).tar | tar xv copy ws plugins dir from ubertooth to new ws plugin dir from source 4) Go to ws source and edit according to this guide to do the wireshark plugin compile: pastebin.com/HenepPQj including: apt-get install libgtk2-0-dev go up to the make, but not the make install copy plugin to correct dirs: from plugins/btbb cp btbb.la .libs/btbb.so /usr/local/lib/wireshark/plugins/1.6.1 From: Jeff Hosack [mailto:jef...@eg...] Sent: Monday, January 09, 2012 4:05 PM To: ube...@li... Subject: [Ubertooth-general] setting up a PC I saw the video from Hak5, but was wondering if there are written instructions for setting up a PC to use Ubertooth. I have a Debain 6 distribution DVD and a used PC that I am allowed to wipe; that's it. From the video it is clear that I have to load Kismet, Wireshark, and Ubertooth plug-ins for both of them, but is there a cut-paste cheat sheet somewhere, as I am not that strong in Linux.
