If you make changes to the /etc/group file and/or your user profile, you must logoff completely in order for the changes to take effect. This means the Xwindows as well as any virtual consoles which you might be logged into. Also, as Jonathan suggested, check your other sound programs and see if they work. You may want to try using the "sndconfig" utility if no sound programs work. |
