What you need to do is to put tramp.info into a directory which is on the search path for info. The search path is obtained via the environment variable $INFOPATH, unless Info-default-directory-list (Info-directory-list in XEmacs) is set. Of course, you can also add the directory where tramp.info is to the search path. You can use the install-info program to add a `dir' entry for tramp.info. For example, change into the directory where you put tramp.info, and assume it contains a `dir' file. Then: install-info --info-dir=. tramp.info will do the trick. kai -- Simplification good!
