Wow. Dead list. Anyway, I got past my problem by removing jsp.jar from the classpath. The missing method was in jasper.jar, which was in the classpath, but after jsp.jar, which was loading a class of the same name but without the method. Now I'm on to other problems with Apache MyFaces 2.1.5 (NPE in flash scope implementation, inability to find tag handlers, etc.). I'm wondering if jasper.jar is wrong, too (e.g., wrong version), but I don't know yet. John. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: John Lusk <jo...@ho...> Date: Sun, Apr 14, 2013 at 4:16 PM Subject: Error deploying WAR: can't find javax.servlet.jsp.JspFactory.getJspApplicationContext To: 11...@di... Howdy. I haven't done any Java programming in several years, so I've probably forgotten (or never knew) some important stuff. I'm trying to get TJWS running on a Raspberry Pi, and deploy a simple webapp to it. I developed a Hello World app with Eclipse 4.2 (Juno), exported a war, and I'm trying to get it deploy. I see the following in the log: [Sun Apr 14 15:02:19 EDT 2013] Unexpected problem in deployment of aplication HelloDynamicWebApp java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.JspFactory.getJspApplicationContext(Ljavax/servlet/ServletContext;)Ljavax/servlet/jsp/JspApplicationContext; at org.apache.myfaces.webapp.Jsp21FacesInitializer.initContainerIntegration(Jsp21FacesInitializer.java:62) at org.apache.myfaces.webapp.AbstractFacesInitializer.initFaces(AbstractFacesInitializer.java:140) at org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener.contextInitialized(StartupServletContextListener.java:111) at rogatkin.web.WebAppServlet.create(WebAppServlet.java:895) My war file contains: prometheus$ /opt/jdk1.8.0/bin/jar tvf webapps/HelloDynamicWebApp.war 39 Mon Feb 18 22:34:58 EST 2013 META-INF/MANIFEST.MF 663 Tue Feb 19 22:29:44 EST 2013 HelloJSF.jsf 0 Mon Feb 18 22:34:38 EST 2013 META-INF/ 0 Mon Feb 18 22:34:40 EST 2013 WEB-INF/ 0 Mon Feb 18 22:34:34 EST 2013 WEB-INF/classes/ 311 Mon Feb 18 22:35:00 EST 2013 WEB-INF/faces-config.xml 0 Mon Feb 18 22:34:36 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/ 232019 Mon Feb 18 22:33:48 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/commons-beanutils-1.8.3.jar 46725 Mon Feb 18 22:33:48 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/commons-codec-1.3.jar 571259 Mon Feb 18 22:33:46 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/commons-collections-3.2.jar 143602 Mon Feb 18 22:33:48 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/commons-digester-1.8.jar 60686 Mon Feb 18 22:33:48 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/commons-logging-1.1.1.jar 1142602 Mon Feb 18 22:33:46 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/myfaces-api-2.1.5.jar 2988530 Mon Feb 18 22:33:48 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/myfaces-bundle-2.1.5.jar 1874340 Mon Feb 18 22:33:46 EST 2013 WEB-INF/lib/myfaces-impl-2.1.5.jar 3124 Mon Feb 18 22:35:00 EST 2013 WEB-INF/web.xml 330 Sun Apr 14 00:00:44 EDT 2013 index.html I see servlet.jar (which is for servlet 3.0) and servlet-2-3.jar in the lib directory of tjws (although only servlet.jar is on the classpath when run by the tjws startup script). So, I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm sure it's something basic. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks. John. |
