There is: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=TrackerFieldUIRevamp If there's going to be an overhaul of the Trackers, speed is a major concern but so is the basic structure of the tracker system. IMO the UI and its underlying structure has to be re-done for scalability and ease of development. The goal here is to get rid of the text fields with comma-separated options and make each option its own field, whether it be a drop-down, numeric, text, radio, whatever. The only way I am aware of with the current way trackers are structured is to allow Tiki to add/remove/modify tables at will so that there is a 1:1 correlation between the database fields and the data, instead of the current 1:many where a tracker is stored as multiple fields in multiple tables. I have begun work on this because nobody was interested in tackling a rewrite of the inner workings. I was looking for volunteers to assist with helping me with doing a lot of the conversion of the existing fields into the structure more or less outlined in the above page, but either nobody wanted to assist or those that were interested didn't have the knowledge base to break out that code. I gather things have changed? I suppose there are more on dev.tw.org But speed - speed -... is the real problem I fixed a big timing consuming problem recently - about the search fields that were fetched even if not displayed (I think still in proposed). But it is still like the perm - tracker/perms need the big picture first and after it is picking out what you need - and not picking out each time you need. No page - so far I know - exists - please create one linked to http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Trackers If you found out how to speed out easily the trackers - welcome. Hope somebody has free time or opportunity to delete all the duplicate code ( I am not the one who duplicates ;-)) - and then thinks about improvement.
