You should work from one of two base points. The "live" JDK 1.8 code is in Mercurial at hg.openjdk.java.net/threeten/threeten (and particularly the jdk repo beneath). Building this involves building the whole of OpenJDK which can be a complex process especially on Windows. If you want to go down this route we can try to guide you. The "backport" code is in GitHub at https://github.com/ThreeTen/threetenbp . This should build simply and without issues using maven. However, it represents a forked and not up to date version of ThreeTen (equivalent to about 4 weeks ago).
