No

I'm using the TeX Live distribution of http://www.cygwin.com under MS Windows 8.1. To make it work with TexMaths and LibreOffice 4.3.2.2, it is not only necessary to enter the path to latex (e.g. C:\cygwin64\bin) in the TexMaths System Configuration, but additionally one needs to create a copy or hard link of pdftex.exe to latex.exe in C:\cygwin64\bin, since after Cygwin setup there is no latex.exe in this directory, just a symbolic Cygwin link (not recognized by TexMaths) latex -> pdftex.exe.
This works fine but is not very convenient since you need to remember to manually update latex.exe after an upgrade of Cygwin TeX Live (otherwise you will see obscure error messages from TexMaths). Would it be possible to make TexMaths directly recognize and accept the right executable (pdftex.exe) once the user has specified the right path (C:\cygwin64\bin)?

Yes, it's possible but why not using MikTex instead?

Of course, MiKTeX works too, but as a heavy Cygwin user, I needed to install the TeX Live packages from Cygwin anyway for other purposes, and I found it more convenient to keep and maintain only a single TeX installation, which uses several hundred megabytes of HDD space after all.

I won't fix this because it's too specific, sorry.
