[MACTCL] tcl tk problems after upgrade to mavericks

I use a small program called "Ding: Dictionary lookup"
It makes use of tcl/tk. It was joyful to use until I upgraded to Mavericks.
Any keys I type into its search bar simply NOT show up,
only after moving the window or hitting return.


I wish to add here that I reinstalled my Macports and my tcl/tk but this did not help at all.
