We saw this coming for a while with the larger mouse pads and increasing focus on gestures, but I'm surprised at how quickly they are pushing things back to OS X. IMHO there's much more room for refining iOS before committing to it as the first UI step beyond PARC WIMP. But probably they'll keep the OS's separate for some time with iOS as the proving ground -- otherwise things could "freeze up" in a mess of frustrated users (and developers) and compatibility problems. Clearly though they see pads and probably ultimately Stark Industries-style interfaces as the way of the future. > Interesting times. As you say! -Adrian |
