Bugs item #775220, was opened at 2003-07-21 15:29 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=110894&aid=775220&group_id=10894 Category: 35. Pathname Management Group: 8.4.4 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Don Porter (dgp) Assigned to: Vince Darley (vincentdarley) Summary: misleading Tcl_TranslateFileName docs Initial Comment: Documentation for Tcl_TranslateFileName says: "This utility procedure translates a file name to a form suitable for passing to the local operating system. " But that's not entirely true. Notably the string returned by T_TFN is in Tcl's internal UTF-8 encoding. For many platforms, it must be converted to the system encoding before passing on to the operating system. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=110894&aid=775220&group_id=10894 |
