Conversions from String Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Uwe Koloska (koloska) >Assigned to: Jim Ingham (wolfsuit) Summary: encoding problems with Mac OSX Initial Comment: The system encoding is not set correctly (cause the path to the encodings is not expanded) and the internal encoding is not converted when making buttons. setting of the right system encoding is a tcl patch but belongs to the other ones. When debugging with Project Builder the console works in utf-8 but the system encoding (for making buttons) is still macRoman. When working from the Terminal the encoding can be choosen by the user but normally is macRoman (or for the unix guys iso8859-1). The encoding of the tcl-console is macRoman. So when testing, one needs to change the encoding for the input channel, if it is not macRoman (cause macRoman is the system encoding!) fconfigure stdin encoding utf-8 The internal strings have to be converted if a native widget (called control by apple) is used. The attached patches are against the repository and the branch macosx-8-4-branch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Jeffrey Hobbs (hobbs) Date: 2002-07-24 13:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=72656 Passing this on to Jim since I have no way to verify these or do any testing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=312997&aid=561452&group_id=12997 |
