Hi Swapnajit, This is a question best asked on comp.lang.tcl. The TCLCORE forum is meant for Tcl developers to discuss the internals of Tcl/Tk. However, the answer is simple but depends on what you want to happen while it's waiting. The simple command: after $some_microseconds will cause the script to wait for that period of time, but it will block and nothing else in the program will execute. If you expect some background tasks to execute, then this will not work. You'll need to use: set ::flag 0 after $some_microseconds set ::flag 1 vwait flag You may wish to post your question to the news group as you'll get a larger variety of answers there. -Brian On Jan 30, 2006, at 9:50 PM, Swapnajit Chakraborti wrote: > Hello, > > Is there any tcl command/artifact by which I can > cause a script to wait for few seconds? > > Basically the pseudo stk of the script is following: > > while { cond } { > # Do something > # wait for some seconds > } > > Thanks for your help. > Swapnajit. |
