Bugs item #432603, was updated on 2001-06-12 17:15 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112997&aid=432603&group_id=12997 Category: Unix Build Group: 8.4a3 Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 1 Submitted By: Todd Helfter (tmh) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: warnings during compile on Solaris Initial Comment: flare: [5] > uname -a SunOS flare.home.tmh 5.8 Generic_108528-08 sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-5 flare: [6] > psrinfo -v Status of processor 0 as of: 06/12/01 19:06:07 Processor has been on-line since 06/11/01 21:58:26. The sparc processor operates at 85 MHz, and has a sparc floating point processor. After applying the most recent patch cluster from Sun, I now get a strange warning when compiling TK. I get this warning on every .c file that gets compiled. Here is a sample: gcc -pipe -c -O -Wall -Wconversion -Wno-implicit-int -fPIC -I/export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix -I/export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/../generic -I/export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/../bitmaps -I/export/home/tmh/work/tcl8.4a3/generic -I/usr/openwin/include -DHAVE_UNISTD_H=1 -DHAVE_LIMITS_H=1 -D_REENTRANT=1 -DHAVE_SYS_SELECT_H=1 -DHAVE_SYS_TIME_H=1 -DTCL_NO_DEPRECATED /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/tkUnixSend.c In file included from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/../generic/tk.h:83, from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/../generic/tkPort.h:20, from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/tkUnixSend.c:18: /usr/openwin/include/X11/Xlib.h:32: warning: ignoring pragma: "@(#)Xlib.h 1.10 00/10/12 SMI In file included from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/../generic/../unix/tkUnixPort.h:82, from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/../generic/tkPort.h:32, from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/tkUnixSend.c:18: /usr/openwin/include/X11/Xresource.h:56: warning: ignoring pragma: "@(#)Xresource.h 1.2 1.2 SMI In file included from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/../generic/../unix/tkUnixPort.h:83, from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/../generic/tkPort.h:32, from /export/home/tmh/work/tk8.4a3/unix/tkUnixSend.c:18: /usr/openwin/include/X11/Xutil.h:56: warning: ignoring pragma: "@(#)Xutil.h 1.2 00/07/05 SMI This does not seem to prevent compilation, It is just very messy. I have the most recent CVS head of tk8.4a3 (from Jun 12). I am using gcc flare: [7] > gcc -v Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/2.95.2/specs gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Donal K. Fellows (dkf) Date: 2001-06-13 07:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=79902 Looks harmless to me, and is probably fixable with some suitable kind of compiler tweak. Indeed, this looks like something that's not our fault at all! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=112997&aid=432603&group_id=12997 |
