[MACTCL] MouseWheel events with the Book touchpad

I made a binding for the toplevel window for MouseWheel events.  
Unfortunately, I am not receiving any events for the two-finger trick  
on the touchpad. I did also try binding the event to the canvas in  
the window. This did not produce any different results. Am I missing  
something here or is it simply that the laptop touchpad scrolling is  
not supported in Tk? That would be most bothersome.
