Hi everyone! As I threatened last week, here is a call-for-votes for a whole bunch of TIPs that feel deserving in my opinion. Full details of each TIP may be obtained from http://purl.org/tcl/tip/ TIP#129 - New Format Codes for the [binary] Command This is unlikely to be the end of changes to the [binary] command, but the other proposals are in other TIPs (or unTIPped) and are not yet fully cooked. TIP#143 - An Interpreter Resource Limiting Framework My baby! This gives Tcl powers not had by any other language that I know of offhand, and is likely to be useful in many different server contexts. I have also identified other potentially cool uses too (e.g. profilers) and it will be interesting to see what the wider community makes of it. TIP#145 - Enhanced Tk Font Handling Giving that extra bit of polish to Tk's fonts. TIP#152 - New -detail Option for tk_messageBox A nice enhancement for Mac and Unix people, and no harm done on Win (where the actual feature is unsupportable AIUI.) TIP#177 - Add -stretch Option to Panedwindow TIP#179 - Add -hide Option to panedwindow Widget A pair of feature-enhancements for the panedwindow widget submitted by Brian Griffin who's apparently used them far more than most of the rest of us. Send your votes (usual form) to this list by [clock format 1084359600] (that's midday GMT+DST, two weeks from today). My votes follow: TIP#129: YES TIP#143: YES TIP#145: YES TIP#152: YES TIP#177: YES TIP#179: YES Note that I have *not* included TIP#154 in this call because I am not yet sure that it is fully cooked. If someone convinces me that a vote really is ready there too, I'll call it separately. Donal. |
