No

when using TaskCoach under Windows 7, it's not possible to simply save to an existing .tsk-file. this is true for .tsk-files i can edit and save using Linux as well as for .tsk-files 'saved as' under the Windows in question.

i tried:
TaskCoach 1.3.29
and the same as Portable App (1.6.2)

I don't understand. Do you mean that there is an error if you try to overwrite an existing file after a "Save as" ?

    ah, i see.
i was just used to that behaviour, because i once set it off and forrgot
    it on my regular workstation.

maybe instead of greying out the save-item, it could be substituted with
    an action 'Toggle off Auto-Save'.
really not necessary, but more intuitive design imo.

    have a nice day!

no, it's not possible to "Save" a file.
but "Save as..." works. i pointed that out because that implies there is
    no problem with the filesystem.
the state of the menu entrys as shown in the screenshot will always be
    the same. ("Speichern" = "Save")

By default, automatic saving is enabled, that's why the menu item is grayed out. But the file is actually saved every time you make a change.

    Cheers

Actually the save button is not even there by default but it depends which version you installed first. I guess we should hide it anyway whenever auto-save is enabled.
