Recently, some change caused Task Coach to bring up a warning about Bonjour and no longer function for iOS syncing on my KDE Ubuntu system. The package I have installed is the right one, the same as always: libavahi-compat-libdnssd1

I don't know what changed, whether Task Coach or my system.

What version of Ubuntu, please ?

      12.04.2, and the libavahi-compat-libdnssd1 is v. 0.6.30-5ubuntu2

Hmm, I didn't get the error just now. Maybe restarting my system solved this. I don't have my iPod with me so I'll have to wait to test it at home in a couple hours…

OK. My own test system is an Ubuntu 12.04 so I hope I'll notice if an upgrade breaks something :)

Ok, it had something to do with accidentally running a new instance I think. Not sure, but anyway, it's working now. Ignore this.
